A NEW ANTHOLOGY OF PSYCHOLOGICALLY CHILLING TALES

Created by Nina Atesh & Alexander Wright

tickets on sale now

A tourist walks into an antique shop. An uncanny owner is more than willing to show them his items..

But these are not ordinary objects. Each one holds a story… and some refuse to stay buried.

Guided through the curious collection, four unsettling tales unfold; each sparked by a single antique, each revealing something strange, psychological and deeply human. From quiet obsessions to moral unravelling, the objects seem to carry more than history; they hold memory, presence… perhaps even souls.

Performed by a core ensemble, these four dark, ten-minute stories shift in tone and setting, but are bound together by a creeping sense that nothing in the shop is as lifeless as it appears.

And as the final story ends, Monty has one last question.

What will you leave behind?

Nicholas has been a fan of Nina Atesh since meeting her in 2018 at the London Bridge experience. It’s rare you find someone who has such an understanding of light and shade, of comedy and horror. Her work has always captivated me and I’d never pass up an opportunity to work with her.

WRITTEN & DIRECTED BY NINA ATESH & ALEXANDER WRIGHT

Nina and Nick (writing as Alexander Wright) first crossed paths in 2018, working as historical re-enactors at the now-extinct London Bridge Experience. “My first memory of Nick is actually of him performing magic tricks for the other actors at our audition,” recalls Nina. “I remember thinking, I'm going to be friends with this guy. Eight years later, here we are!”

Having first joined forces as writers on 2023’s Tales From the Hellfire Club, the pair reunited when Nick proposed an antique shop as the setting for a new anthology series. “I’ve always been strangely drawn to antique shops,” Nick explains. “There’s something about stepping inside one and being surrounded by countless ghosts of the past. Every object has its own history, its own energy, its own story.”

And so Uncle Monty’s Antique Shop was born: a peculiar establishment run by an even more peculiar proprietor, where seemingly ordinary objects harbour extraordinary tales. But the pair have much bigger ambitions for Monty and his curious collection.

“We'd love to see the shop grow beyond the stage, whether that's through audio, television or something else entirely,” says Nina. “Ultimately, the dream is to open Monty's doors to other writers, inviting them to contribute their own stories, their own antiques, if you will(!) to his ever-expanding collection.”

After all, there's always room for one more curiosity on Uncle Monty's shelves...
